The Monstera Deliciosa, also known as the Swiss Cheese Plant, Split-leaf Philodendron, or Fruit Salad Plant, is a beautiful tropical evergreen native to the rainforests of southern Mexico and Central America. Belonging to the Araceae family, it is famous for its large, glossy, heart-shaped leaves that develop dramatic splits and natural holes (called fenestrations). These unique features make it one of the most iconic and desirable indoor plants. In ideal indoor conditions, it can grow up to 10–15 feet, while in the wild, it can reach even greater heights. When mature, Monstera Deliciosa produces an edible fruit that tastes like a blend of pineapple and banana, giving it the “deliciosa” name.
